Wednesday (December 30): Alan’s contemporary class focuses on alignment of the body in such a way that weight is supported through the center of the bones, repatterning the flow of energy so that movement is started by the muscles that are closest to the body’s center. Dancers will use gravity and the momentum it creates to move with ease, decreasing muscle tension. Dancers will also practice the use of improvisation as a way to generate new ways of moving, composing, and stimulating creativity.
All classes from 10-1130am at Live Oak Dance (8204 Oak St) in Riverbend. Drop-in rate is $12. Class cards are available in 10-class increments for $100.
